Long shot GOP presidential candidate preaches togetherness during Aurora visit

Don’t tell Ryan Binkley he’s an underdog, a long shot or cannot possibly win. He knows. He’s heard it already.
But that only makes the GOP presidential candidate work harder, taking his traditional Republican message with a twist through the Midwest, hitting more than 30 town halls in Iowa already, with a stop Wednesday in Illinois.
Binkley, who declared his intent to seek the GOP presidential nomination in his hometown of Dallas recently, is working Iowa hard, with the plan to do well enough in the Iowa caucuses in early 2024 to land him on the presidential debate stage as a serious candidate by August 2024.
He’s young, handsome and a political newcomer, having never sought public office before. But he’s a successful businessman through the business he started, and a minister, too, at the church he and his wife, Ellie, started eight years ago.
