Republican primary candidates focus on fuel
From contentious debates to attack ads on television, it would be hard to ignore the ongoing race among Republicans ahead of the Jan. 15 Iowa Caucus — and that’s before the poll leader is considered.
Despite caucus drama in 2020 when results were delayed due to software issues, Iowa remains first in the nation for the Republican Party as a potential launching pad for the remainder of the primary season.
Ahead of the caucuses, former President Donald Trump is at the top of polls, but has been notably absent from the Republican candidate debates thus far. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley have rounded out the top three in polls consistently since October.
Other candidates include biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, and businessman and Pastor Ryan Binkley, who have all been polling below 10%.
