Ryan Binkley: Iowa, it’s time to believe and vote for something different
The number one question I receive on the campaign trail is, “Ryan, why are you still in this race when so many others have left?”
My answer is that our nation is on fire.
It is on fire economically, spiritually and culturally. If you had a loved one in a building that is burning, and you had a small percentage chance of rescuing them, would you go in? Does it matter what the odds are?
Of course, you go in regardless of the odds. That is why I’m still in this race. Our children have no hope on our current path, and everyone knows it. That’s why I am running in when others are running out.
The next question I receive often is, “Is it possible for you to win?”
Well, God has been doing the impossible forever. So, yes, it is possible for me to win. Gideon, Moses and David all show us that “impossible” is God’s specialty.
But now, Iowa, it’s up to you. If we have learned anything from decades of repeated failures, it is that the usual politicians cannot break away from politics as usual.
If we want something different, we have to vote for someone different. Despite the polls and the pundits, I know people want change. I know we want leaders who will restore our faith in God, freedom and each other. That is why I’m still running for president.
Iowa must decide in this election if it’s time for revenge, a new sheriff, kicking heels, screaming sarcasm, or if it’s time to Believe. I think it’s time to Believe again.
